When the template is the problem.

Some things can't be expressed in a page builder: an interface built around your own data, a booking flow nobody else has, a site where every millisecond counts, a mobile app that has to feel native. Custom means the constraint is what you can describe — not what the platform allows.

Web & mobile iOS + Android from one codebase Source code is yours

What we build custom

Mobile apps

iOS and Android from a single codebase. Including the parts that decide whether an app survives its first month: onboarding, notifications, offline behaviour, store listings and the review process.

High-performance sites

Statically generated, near-instant, top Core Web Vitals. For sites where speed is the conversion lever and every third-party script is a tax you can't afford.

Data-driven interfaces

Dashboards, calculators, configurators, search and filtering over your own data. The interactive core that templates gesture at and never quite deliver.

Integrations & automation

Your site talking properly to your CRM, payments, inventory or internal tools — so the same record doesn't get typed into three systems by hand.

Design systems

A component library and tokens your brand actually holds to, so page fifty still looks like page one and new work doesn't restart the design argument.

Accessibility

Keyboard navigation, screen-reader semantics and contrast built in from the start. Cheap to design in, expensive to retrofit, and increasingly a legal requirement rather than a nicety.

Do you actually need custom?

Custom costs more and takes longer. Sometimes that's obviously right, and sometimes we'll talk you out of it.

Custom is the right call when…You'd be overspending when…
The interactive core is the product You need pages, a contact form and a booking calendar — see Wix
Performance is a competitive advantage, not a preference A well-built theme would hit your targets — see WordPress
You need a mobile app, not a responsive website A mobile-friendly site would do the same job
You're selling access to software Billing and accounts are the whole point — see SaaS

How a custom project runs

  1. Discovery

What it must do, who uses it, what "done" means. We write it down and price against that document rather than against optimism.

  2. Prototype

A clickable version of the core flow before production code exists. Changing your mind here costs a day; changing it after build costs weeks.

  3. Build in visible increments

Working software on a staging link every week or two. AI accelerates the routine code; architecture and review stay human, because the failure mode of unreviewed generated code is subtle and expensive.

  4. Launch and handover

Deployment, monitoring, documentation and a walkthrough with whoever maintains it. The repository is yours from the first commit, not the last.

Custom build questions

You do, from the first commit. The repository lives in your organisation and we work inside it. If you decide to take the project elsewhere, another developer can pick it up without asking us for anything.

Cross-platform for most projects — one codebase, both stores, roughly half the cost, and the performance gap has largely closed. Fully native is worth it when you're leaning hard on platform-specific hardware or need the absolute ceiling on graphics performance. We'll tell you which case you're in.

AI writes a lot of the routine code — boilerplate, tests, migrations, repetitive components — which is genuinely faster. It doesn't decide architecture, and nothing merges without human review. Generated code fails in quiet ways: plausible-looking logic that's wrong at the edges. Review is where that gets caught, so we don't skip it.

Custom work is quoted per project after discovery, because an honest number needs a defined scope. Smaller builds land in weeks; app and platform projects run months. You'll get a fixed price against a written scope before any work starts.

Software needs maintenance — dependency updates, OS releases, store policy changes. We offer ongoing support, your own team can take it, or you can call us when something breaks. All three are fine; pretending none is needed isn't.

Tell us what you're building

Describe the idea in a paragraph. We'll come back with whether it needs custom work, what the shape of it looks like, and a realistic range before you commit to anything.
